There’s a new twist this year in the always-popular holiday tours at the Maker’s Mark distillery in Loretto!
MoreThis summer, more than a few surprised visitors to our distillery in Loretto, Ky., had the chance to meet our newest tour guide: Maker's Mark Chairman Emeritus Bill Samuels, Jr. Along the way, they heard Bill's firsthand account of how his parents created the world's first premium bourbon and why they decided to dip each bottle in our signature red wax.
Since anyone who knows Bill knows that he doesn't like to sit still, he's agreed to come back and lead a few more tours and tastings this fall.

This year, the picturesque national landmark Maker's Mark distillery will be beautifully adorned with thousands of Christmas lights, but for the first time the lights will be synchronized with holiday music played throughout the grounds. The setting will be a magical, unforgettable experience for visitors. The lights will be on December 1-10 until 6 p.m. Monday – Friday and until 8 p.m. on Saturdays. It’s free to visit the distillery, but the distillery will be accepting canned goods from those who would like to bring them throughout the holidays and donating them to the Salvation Army.
The gift shop at Maker’s Mark is a great place for Christmas shopping, as well, and its hours will be extended from December 1 – 10, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday – Friday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 1-10.
