The Chee Chee

Recipe:

  • 1-1/2 parts Maker’s Mark Bourbon®
  • 1 slice of a blood orange (regular oranges will work)
  • 1 amarena cherry (you may substitute maraschino or fresh cherries)
  • 1/2 part dry marsala
  • 1/4 part Averna Amaro

Muddle the blood orange slice with the cherry in a shaker. Add the Maker’s Mark® Bourbon, marsala and Averna Amaro. Add ice and shake vigorously. Serve neat in a glass or over ice.

Extra Notes:

This is Jeff’s Sicilian take on an Old Fashioned. This drink is sophisticated and smooth; it gets its dark color from the blood orange and a rich mouth-feel from the marsala.
