The Unnecessary Noise

Recipe:

  • 1-1/2 parts Maker’s Mark® Bourbon
  • 3/4 part Aperol
  • Pernod®
  • Dash rhubarb bitters
  • Splash Dolin Blanc Vermouth de Chambrey
  • Orange zest for garnish 

Rinse a martini glass with a little Pernod® and ice, stir and let sit and bind to the glass. Fill a shaker with ice, add the Maker’s Mark® Bourbon, Aperol, bitters and vermouth. Stir gently. Discard the ice and Pernod®. Strain the cocktail into the glass. Garnish with a strip of orange zest.

Extra Notes:

The grapefruit in the Aperol pairs perfectly with the natural sweetness of Maker’s Mark® Bourbon. I loved adding a bit more vermouth and enjoying this over crushed ice.
