Pro Tips
The < 15% rule
Spirits with ABVs below 15% should be refrigerated. If left out, an open bottle of Aperol may spoil, but it will last about three months in the fridge.
Sweeten the deal
Syrups like the one in this drink can be made fairly easily at home. After dissolving a 1:1 (or 2:1) ratio of sugar and water on the stove, try infusing the syrup with your favorite herbs or fruit.
Hurry up & chill
Before you prepare the drink, fill your glass with ice and water and put it in the freezer. When the drink is ready, your chilled glass will be, too.

How to

  1. Fill a wine glass with ice and layer in Maker's Mark®, Aperol and syrup.
  2. Top your glass with Prosecco and stir.
  3. Squeeze in lemon slice and then use as a garnish.

Kentucky spirit meets Italian brioHistory of the Star Hill Spritz

A riff on the Aperol Spritz, this Maker's Mark® version takes cues from its refreshing, Italian cousin – a summer staple in Europe since the 1950s. If you're curious about the name we gave it, Star Hill is the name of the Kentucky farm where the Maker's Mark Distillery is built. Star Hill Farm was established in 1805 and is the reason behind that star you see on our label.
