Archbishop of Canterbury

Frederick Temple was the Archbishop of Canterbury from 1896 to 1902. He was Margie Samuels’ mother’s uncle and, at least on one occasion, preached about the importance of educating women. Smart man.

On an additional historical note, Frederick’s son – William Temple – also served as the Archbishop of Canterbury from 1942 to 1944. They are the only father and son in history to both hold that office.
