It’s an awe-inspiring union of art and tradition.From July through October of this year, a visit to the Maker’s Mark Distillery will mean more than a fun, informative and up-close look into the world of our famous bourbon. Because during this time, you can also enjoy the amazing art of world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly with a limited-run special exhibition throughout the distillery grounds. This exhibition will showcase seven dramatic installations complimenting the distillery’s landscape and architecture. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see the work of a remarkable artist, globally renowned for his ambitious site-specific installations.

Nights have always been pretty at the Maker’s Mark Distillery. For a limited time, they’re absolutely breathtaking.On every Saturday night from July 22 – October 7, you can enjoy the amazing art of Dale Chihuly with Chihuly Nights – a special, limited-run nighttime exhibit from 6-10 p.m. throughout the distillery grounds. As darkness descends, you’ll experience the artwork in a whole new way with the distillery’s unique landscape serving as a fascinating canvas for these unforgettable works of art.

Join us to celebrate the grand opening of Chihuly at Maker’s -  a limited-run special exhibition throughout the distillery grounds featuring the amazing art of Dale Chihuly. This evening event is your first chance to see the exhibition beautifully displayed at night. Our Americana picnic will feature a big brass band, Maker’s Mark cocktails, tastings and dinner by Chef Newman Miller of Star Hill Provisions. Tickets are $50 each – click “Buy Tickets” for more.

Progressive DinnerThursday, September 14th

Enjoy wonderful food and delicious cocktails from Louisville-area Chefs and Bartenders at this fabulous progressive dinner served amidst the beauty of Chihuly at Maker’s. All proceeds from this event benefit APRON, Inc., a Louisville-based organization that assists folks working at independent restaurants and bars during times of hardship.

Dale Chihuly

Dale Chihuly, an American artist, has mastered the alluring, translucent and transparent qualities of ice, water, glass and neon to create works of art that transform the viewer experience.

He is globally renowned for his ambitious site-specific architectural installations in public spaces and exhibitions presented in museums and gardens worldwide. Born in 1941 in Washington state, Chihuly established the glass program at the Rhode Island School of Design and co-founded Pilchuck Glass School in 1971. He has received numerous awards and honorary degrees and has works of art included in over 250 museum collections.

Major exhibitions include Chihuly Over Venice (1995–96); Chihuly in the Light of Jerusalem 2000 (1999); Garden Cycle (2001–present); Chihuly at the de Young, San Francisco (2008); Chihuly: Through the Looking Glass, Boston (2011); Chihuly at the VMFA, Richmond (2012); and Chihuly, Montreal, Canada (2013). Chihuly Garden and Glass opened at Seattle Center in 2012.
