How do taxes work for The Whisky Drop by Maker’s Mark?

In addition to the cost of each shipment, your order confirmation email will show taxes charged based on your state of residence. In Kentucky, there is an alcohol sales tax (6%), wholesale tax (11%) and state excise tax ($1.92/gallon). In Washington, D.C., the alcohol sales tax is 10.25%.

How does The Whisky Drop by Maker’s Mark work?

Joining The Whisky Drop by Maker’s Mark will allow you to receive unique shipments of whisky from the Maker’s Mark Distillery, delivered right to your doorstep. Members will receive four shipments per year, each containing two bottles of specially selected limited-production whisky.

Is the distillery closed for the holidays?

Yes, the distillery is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Do I need to wear a mask?

Yep. Masks are required for now.

Can I order Maker's Mark® online?

Yes. There are various eCommerce partners Maker’s Mark works with across the world. Restrictions vary by state, but you can order from Drizly in several U.S. markets, and will be expanding to many more soon. Where is Loretto, Ky.?

Can I schedule a tour of the Maker's Mark Distillery?

Yes. Visitors are currently required to make a reservation before arriving at the distillery. Visit makersmark.com/tours for more information.

When are distillery tours given?

Tours are currently available Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (Distillery is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.) Reservations must be made online in advance.
