Bill Samuels Jr. named this bourbon after the French oak stave profile used in the process, which the Independent Stave Company designates as “Stave Profile No. 46.”

Maker’s 46® was created out of Bill Samuels Jr.’s desire to share his own taste vision with the world - a vision to build on his father’s work by creating a bolder, more intense expression with exceptional depth and a long, enduring finish. This signature bourbon requires a first-of-its-kind finishing process that begins with fully matured, cask-strength Maker’s Mark.

After traditional aging, ten seared French oak staves are inserted into the barrel, where the whisky is finished to maturity under ideal conditions in our limestone cellar.

The result is a rich, indulgent French-oaked whisky, offering added depth and a full-bodied flavor profile, with notes of caramel, vanilla, and baking spice that unfold in layers on the palate.
