Kentucky Classic Collins
A twist on a refreshing favorite using an "Oleo Saccharum" to capture the brightest notes of lemon and orange to accompany the sweet notes of Maker's Mark bourbon. For best results, use a high quality ginger ale (we use "Ale-8-One") for depth of flavor. The Oleo Saccharum can be made the day before and holds for up to two weeks in the refrigerator.

Garnish with Fruit Peel, Mint Sprig, and Crystalized Ginger on a pick. Float bitters on top of finished cocktail.
Peel 1 each lemon and orange, removing all pith. Add 55g or 2 oz. granulated sugar per lemon and orange to a glass jar, cover, and shake well. Let rest overnight at room temperature. Remove peel before use. Maker’s Mark Tip: Reduce waste by using peels as garnish.

- SMOOTH FINISH
This one changed the way we think of bourbon, all because one man changed the way he thought about making it. Bill Samuels, Sr., simply wanted a whisky he would enjoy drinking. Never bitter or sharp, Maker's Mark is made with soft red winter wheat, instead of the usual rye, for a one-of-a-kind, full-flavored bourbon. To ensure consistency, we rotate every barrel by hand and age our bourbon to taste, not time. Each and every bottle of Maker's is still hand-dipped in our signature red wax at our distillery in Loretto, KY., just like Bill, Sr. would have wanted.
